Didn’t Expect This

Paroled from my mind,
I lacerated my veins.
- I didn't expect this -
living with scars of torment
death keeps escaping my grip.

Addiction

When I was in the lowest pits of hell,
you came and encompassed me with love,
embracing me ever so tenderly,
guiding me into the heavens above.

You fed me with your manna from heaven,
as I consumed each drop set upon my tongue,
or injected into my veins with your love.
My heart rushed with your ecstasy from above.

You were there when no one else was,
you understood me when no one else could;
you were my love, and I, your pride and joy,
for you did not judge me as others would.

We were one, until death do us part,
we danced - day to day and cheek to cheek
as you slid deeply entering my veins,
loving me until you no longer could.

Our vow, finally reached with your last kiss
as you sent me off into heavenly bliss
with my blood entwined with your beautiful lust,
as my breath faded back into the dust.

Christmas Remedy

Prepare your remedy
for your Christmas day dependency
of drinking a quart of booze.

Be prudent and true,
to drink every drop due,
for a hangover, you do choose.

So drink another round,
and be the Christmas clown,
as you wont remember the news:

For you will puke and spin,
losing your Christmas day grin
because of that quart of booze.

Betrayed

I am going out of my blood crazed mind
completely side tracked and blind
by the fury that defeats me on the inside;
my brain, I cant explain
as it erupts in great disdain
from the stain
    - of betrayal.

Screaming in my mind,
I cant get a word in edge wise;
spinning a millions cycles entwined
with rage and anger riveting
    - my spine.

I cant shake this feeling
of a so called friend ripping me in two,
stabbing my back through and through,
betraying all that we once had
for the price of a greenback;
    what a damn joke
    this immoral bloke
    who pretended to be my friend!

The end -
    with this so called friend;
         I'm back to the drawing board,
             with just me
                   and my pen
                        The end!

Christmas 1687

Christmas in sixteen eighty seven
was a time for sexual leaven;
drinking and making merry,
while exchanging their sinful berries;

Eating and drinking door to door
for the sake of being a whore,
for all involved in this fun
were waiting the arrival of the sun;

Twas the nights of lights
of pure sexual delights,
with no admission of sin,
for all partook with a sexual grin.

Genders disguised as one another
to have their way with each other;
man or woman, it didn't matter
for the carnival was their platter.

And while their acts continued on
they all sung the caroling songs,
with booze and sex running the streets,
a wonderful night of sinful treats.

Merry Christmas to all,
and to all a good night.

Eating Disorders

Your obese and I'm too thin,
self-control is our biggest sin.

You see hunger,
I see greed,
And yet we both suffer
from the same maladies;
Self perception is our disease,
for what we see, is not reality;
it strips away our humanity
leaving the real possibility
of our families standing by
our gravesides - weeping.

Why? Because of our rage
set from the worlds cruel ways
of torture and pain
they laid, on us daily;
     the names,
     the lies,
     the beatings
we took:
     leaving us feeling worthless,
     less then a human being
     worthy of love
          - from none.

And with this rage,
it has decayed our visual way
of seeing who we are;
     our rage
     has turned to obsession
     of feast or famine,
     and either way,
     if we cant cease this pain
     we shall both fade
     into the grave.

So please, let us pray,
to cease internalizing our pain;
     the agony inside,
     and rather live our lives
     without turning to our demise
     with our obsessions.

For we will survive
once we realize
we are beautiful
     - they way we are -
no matter what are scars;
     for between you and me
     it is love that we need,
     to kill this obsessive disease
     that we face daily.

Dark, tall, empty
filled with majesty,
yet silence falls
upon empty madness;
no gay melodies,
seats of emptiness,
everyone has gone.

Barren of happiness,
locked behind walls,
your in anguish
until next fall.

Soon you await
the next date
for a homerun;
a fast ball,
a batters swing,
center field - gone!

The fans wild;
dancing and screaming,
popcorn and beer
- oh the serenity
to my ears;
fun filled fantasy,
a world series,
the crowd cheers!

I cant wait
until next fall
to play ball!

The Race Game

With division, they control,
With control, they displace liberty,
With liberty displaced, they impose tyranny,
With tyranny, they incite hostility,
With hostility, they create separation,
With separation, they control our destiny.

A vicious circle played at your expense,
At your expense they continue to win,
With their winning you play the race game,
With the race game - you lose - they win;

     Ever enslaving your mind,
     as they strip away your pride,
     shaping you into the mold
     of self servitude;
     For you believe their lie
     that this is you verses I,
     when in actuality,
     this is us verses them.

Us - the collective us - society,
the entire public variety
of us, standing as one;
removing the smoke from our minds,
seeing their games of demise:
     games that penetrate our lives
     creating animosity between you and I.

As long as we remain in chains
by their propaganda feigns,
peace will always be strained -
     with only racial hate,
     under their full blown dictator state.

For this was never about race,
but rather control of the surf state
to bring the demise
with you verses I,
as we kill one another
in the name of race.

Let stop this fate
of violence and hate.
And now at this date
  - regardless of color,
    regardless of race,
lets encompasses one another
with love and grace
and stop the hate.

We can stand on our feet
living without defeat,
or die on our knees
under the racial decrees
of a dictator surf state.

For as long as they continue to win
we will lose until death calls us in;
lined up, ready for the grave
choosing to be slaves
with their racial divide
set in motion for our demise.

So choose which side;
you versus I,
where we shall both die?
Or us verses them,
where we will both win,
regardless of skin:
     working together
     like the love of a mother
     embracing one another
     until the end;
          where they lose
          and we win!

Frustration

It constricts
like a chain
wrapped around your neck
smothering out your every breath.

It infuriates
like a hornet stinging
its victim until almost dead;
stretched out, lifeless and on their deathbed.

It incites,
like a raging inferno
going off inside your head,
until every single thought you held, is dead.

Frustration compresses;
it infuriates until your almost dead,
it incites until you to see blood red
making your head regress
with its next episode
of hell bent vehemence
- over nothingness;
     for you did this
     in a fit of fury
     with unthought worry
     of emptiness!

Oh G-d please help
readdress this surge
of aggravation

thoughts of happiness,

Stress

Its appears,
as an iceberg
floating upon the sea,
with only its surface shown:
but lingering below,
the depth or breadth is unknown
as it engages for war
upon the voyage
you sojourned.

It builds,
like a volcano ready to explode
upon the island shores,
turning the golden beaches
into dark charcoal magma forms
of lifeless sludge
suffocating all that once was,
under it surface.

It covers,
like a winters snowstorm;
a derailed train off the icy track,
her passengers thrown
into the bitter cold without warning;
unprotected, the elements devouring.

It is vicious,
like the wild beast
set free, hungry, seeking
its next meal to devour instantly
as it tears with its teeth
limb from limb.

It devastates
families, entire communities
without notice,
for it has no soul -
it only seeks to serve itself
as it fuels off of your grief.

It kills,
leaving you empty
with no peace;
only a wooden box
lying at your feet
six foot deep
waiting for you to enter.

Stress defeats,
it lingers beneath,
it builds to explode
to cover in grief.
It is vicious without mercy,
it devastates in disbelief,
it kills everyone eventually.

So please, please,
listen to me
- seek the one thing
that you, that I,
that we all
desperately need,
seek to live fully
and absolutely
stress free.

Racial Tension

Freedom is not anarchy
Encompassed under the guise of justice.
Retaliation in the form of chaos and destruction
Glares not of justice, but rather of racial hatred fueled
Upon those whom do not welcome the creeds of insurrection.
Surmised by the call of collective unity to bring forth the possibilities
Of change, but it seconds a movement of racial violence dishonoring those fallen.
Naive measures will bear the consequence of separation for this movement of change.

Regardless of race,
Irate endeavors just retaliate;
Oscillating onwards to war;
Tensions high regardless of lies
Spewed from those that manipulate the collective communities.

Stop The Oppressing Policies
That rekindle injustice
On all, regardless of nationality.
Paucity we are not, if we unite in love.

Impartiality is the key,
Not the division that they bring.
Collaboration of our minds,
Irrespective of race
Turns the engine of change;
Exchanging, engaging and elevating one another in love.

The Watery Grave

Theories of death
entangle my mind,
as the moon shivers
her light so fine
upon the watery grave
beneath me.

Perplexities intense
with a body of death;
     motionless,
     wrapped,
     and unseen.

For in the first degree,
murder lay siege
on this dark summers eve;
     the shivering light
     shinning so bright,

     was dealt
     so coldly.

The murderers rage,
consuming their prey

I’m Sorry My Love

We spin,
we dance,
we are free;
intertwined,
embracing;
holding, loving
one another
for a lifetime
- inside my mind.

Then I -
I look,
it all passed by
in a blink of an eye,
and now your gone.
Nowhere to be seen
- vanished - into a barren dream
of emptiness, of void, because of me.

I bow before your grave
where I have died a million times,
weeping and mourning over the lost time
that could have been. But I, instead, just dreamt
and never understood how much you truly loved me;
neglecting our time that could have been loving one another.
But now you are gone into the world of the unseen
as your memory torments my soul constantly.
So please, please, if you can hear me,
forgive me for all I have done;
for the tears of loneliness;
of heartbreak and sorrow,
I'm sorry my love
for tomorrow
will never

You Think It's Funny

The prostitute screams,
bleeding on the streets - wrists slit,
you look – paying no heed,
     – and you think it’s funny?

The drug dealer rides,
telling lies as your child dies
from the addiction the dealer provides,
     – and you think it’s funny?

Why?

Because you can’t see;
you’re caught up in societies greed;
all you care about is me;
     self entitled dreams,
     fantasy,
     just make believe
          – it’s all about me.

When will you realize there is more to life
than materialized possessions
that you can’t take when you’re dead?

When will you understand
that when one is terrorized;
     violently molested,
     murdered without objection,
     raped in the name of love,
     abused because the man could,
     that is isn’t funny:
          for this could be you,
          or the one you love,
          or even your wife.

All that matters in this life,
is for you to think;
     contemplate on the things unseen;
          the struggles of others,
               thinking on those in need
                    instead of your own damn greed.

For the things we see here in this life;
     what we touch,
     taste and breathe,
     they are not what they seem,
     they are but a dream,
     a fraudulent smoke screen,
     that is forcing one to see
          - the self entitled me.

And you think it’s funny...

The Face of God Shine Upon Me

When I was young and meek
I would sit and stare into the outer darkness
scanning the skyline, watching the moonlight
shinning across eternity, waiting to see,
just for a short while, no matter how brief,
the face of God shine upon me.

And as I stood and prayed, looking up and away
into the night sky, my father would whisper and say,
ever so sternly,
     “son, let me help you see,
     no matter how briefly,
     the face of God shine
     as you are seeking.”

And blessed be his soul,
for God only knows
time and time again
he would try to help me see,
just for a short while,
the face of God shine upon me.

He would stand near, watching, as a guardian angel
watching over one of God's earthly sons;
trying to help me see the light
as I knelt before God;
hands clasped,
head bowed,
thinking
     - maybe this time,
     just for a short while,
     the face of God will shine upon me.

And as my father gazed into my eyes,
reassuring me with his every breath,
that this time, unlike the last,
he would bring me closer,
if even only for a short while,
to see the God face shine up on me.

As my father began to help me see,
he would carelessly beat me,
until my blood filled gaze
was drenched with unrelenting pain
     crushing,
     bruising,
     breaking my skin
     over and over and over again,
and in that moment of time,
he would surely try to help me see,
if even only for a short while,
the face God shine up on me.

And when my breath was barely left,
my life would pass before my eyes;
     ready to fade,
     no strength remained;
          drifting, from this world
          into the next,
          with my last breath spent,
               the face of God has finally
               shined upon me.

House of Glass

The heart is mourning;
temptations,
which surprised God;
the Church,
a house of glass.
Her doctrine,
confusion;
unfaithful to all.

Deadly threats,

Forgive me Father

Forgive me Father for I have sinned,
Lawlessness ravishes me from within.
Emotions of plight are all I can see;
I'm blinded with furious sadistic insanity.

I sit vexed, disheartened as I pray,
Seeking your guidance as I'm in dismay,
To help me overcome this grief that I bare,
I remember the gift that you did share.

Upon the Mt Moses did bring
Tablets of mercy for me to sing.
Lessons of life - easy to keep,
I now pray Father, let me enter peace.

Amen…

Dreams I Love Not

Drifting through a lascivious scene
    I see a thing I never dreamed,
Restrained for the night of sleep -
    Lullabies filled with death and weeping.
Extravagant realities upside down,
    Oscillating all around,
Another place, I would never seek -
    Violently carrying me up its peak.
Memories, I wish to expel,
    Especially from these dreams of hell
Silently, taking me to another realm
    Never to awake, from these landscapes
On the mountains where spirits shake;
    To be, with these dreams I love.

Work Day

Heading to work,
     break light!
Traffic Stop;
     Green Light
          - No red!!
Were almost dead,
     but I stopped.

Maybe,
     I should have sped,
     Or not?

Yet, another grim day
     at the office,
          I'm dead.

A Mother

She stands strong, unassailable like rain
Casting down into the torrent sea.
No movement seen when terror strikes,
For she endures even wars;
Cold as ice, nerves of steel,
None can conquer her –
A warrior.
Yet, fragile
As a
Vase.

You and I

The relationship died
between you and I,
for the love between us
was never recognized.

Critical indecisiveness
left us to die; Is it too late
to recuperate
our demise?

Twenty six years
sped by -
all that we knew died
and never again materialized
into the heavenly bliss
we knew, at the beginning.

Now the days spin by
extending time
into mourning;
night filled intellect;
the greatest regret -
time ignored between you and I,
it left us to die grieving.

Why must we seek demise
when our love filled eyes
can rekindle the flame
of lost time?

Ignore the calamities,
for cant you see
the possibilities,
between you and I.

This will lead us to die
– a final tragedy
in this drive;
over twenty six years of our lives,
between you and I.
So please tell me,
is this a final demise,
or a flame rekindled by time?

She Calls

Calling out, my voice still sings
Hopeful you'll hear my words serene
Of compassion, kindness and mercy.
Cruel are your ways inflicted upon me,
Hastily scorning my lyrical warnings;
Merciful cries with my hands raising wide,
Accelerating, your eyes now deny - my sagacity.

William Wordsworth: Lines

Written While Sailing In A Boat At Evening

How richly glows the water's breast
Before us, tinged with evening hues,
While, facing thus the crimson west,
The boat her silent course pursues!
And see how dark the backward stream!
A little moment past so smiling!
And still, perhaps, with faithless gleam,
Some other loiterers beguiling.

Such views the youthful Bard allure;
But, heedless of the following gloom,
He deems their colours shall endure
Till peace go with him to the tomb.
       -- And let him nurse his fond deceit,
And what if he must die in sorrow!
Who would not cherish dreams so sweet,
Though grief and pain may come to-morrow?

My Analysis

What draws me into this poem is the wonderful play on the first and second stanzas.

The first seems to be about the waters, its beauty and grandeur while sailing upon her crests.  As he sails the waters break into charming other crests as they glide into the darkness behind.

Then comes the second, the twist.  This young poet (bard) who is drawn into the scene around him is not paying attention to the environment.  He is deceived by what he sees. All this beauty before him may indeed turn into sorrow and grief, to his utter demise.

Please leave comments with your thoughts and analysis.

Cyborg

I gaze into your eyes,
And darkness is all you see,
For death has encompassed me.

The world that I once knew
Has been ripped and torn
Into the darkness of still-born
Horror that will never leave
My constrained reality
Of computerized torment and calamity.

I move without mercy;
I stop for none
As I inhale death into my
Lifeless soul of what I once was.

Vengeance is mine says my desire
As I inflict my torturous rage
On all that created me,
Transforming me,
Into this metallic life form
Of a once human being.

My wrath has yet to be seen,
For let the truth be known
        - I am the one that made me.

Rebellious Child

Frantic behavior I cannot deny;
     Unrelenting nemesis is my only alibi.
Caring for no one is my only creed;
     Kindled self-serving, it's all about me.

Isolating all that crosses my way;
     Negotiate with no one about what I say.
Going to take what ever I dream;
     I'm a sadistic psychopath, watch out for me.

Red tainted pain I will pour down on thee
     After I destroy the family.
Try to stop me and you will see,
     Escalating anger released from me.

Caring for no one is my only creed.
     Hell bent anger,
          Its all about me.
     Lashing out against all in my way;
          Destructive deception – I will make you pay.

I'm a sadistic psychopath ready to scream
     As I take away your reality.
          Murderous bastard is what I will be.

Rummi: Sadness, the Happiest Time

Sadness to me is the happiest time,
When a shining city rises from the ruins of my drunken mind.
Those times when I’m silent and still as the earth,
The thunder of my roar is heard across the universe.

Rumi: O Seeker

The whole universe is
contained within a single
human being – you.
Everything that you see around,
including the things you might not be fond of
and even the people you despise or abhor,
is present within you in varying degrees.
Therefore, do not look for Satan
outside yourself either.

The devil is not an extraordinary force
that attacks from without.
It is an ordinary voice within.
If you get to know yourself fully,
facing with honesty and hardness
both your dark and bright sides,
you will arrive...

Emily Dickinson: There Is A Word

There is a word
Which bears a sword
Can pierce an armed man -
It hurls its barbed syllables,
And is mute again-
But where it fell
The saved will tell
On patriotic day,
Some epauletted Brother
Gave his breath away.

Wherever runs the breathless sun -
Wherever roams the day -
There is its victory!
Behold the keenest marksman!
The most accomplished shot!
Time's sublimest target
Is a soul "forgot!"

Hallow Eve Night

Death,
Life -
        Swings by.
Eerie Night
When the spirits fly,
The soul emphatically dies.
No screams, or outcries as it passes on by - surprise!
Carried into the bottomless abyss; terror fills, the Jack-o'-lantern wins tonight.

Rumi: Rules of Love

"God is a meticulous clock maker.
So precise is His order
that everything on earth
happens in its own time.
Neither a minute late
nor a minute early.

And for everyone without exception,
the clock works accurately.
For each there is
a time to love
and a time to die."

Let's Swing

Baby let down your hair,
Get off the chair,
Let the music shine
As we swing sublime.

Let the time fly
Like the roaring flame;
    The hours pass by,
    As we dance and rave.

Jump and jive,
You and me alive
Having a wonderful time
As we swing sublime.

Beauty to our ears,
Our worries surmised:
For tonight joyful tears
As we dance until the sunrise.

Like the roll of the dice,
We glide as ice
Listening to the piano fly –
You and me baby, swing sublime!

The Last King

Movement:
    Like the drifting withered leaf,
    Crumpled and dry as it sweeps
    Down the tree’s limb in agony.

Scorched:
    Like a ship sinking into the never ending sea:
    A tomb sunken twenty leagues deep.
    Silent, not a whisper seen.
    Her corpses: rotted flesh is her ecstasy.

Falling:
    Like the leaf of the tree,
    Without a sound, no one can see
    The light escapes between the scene.
    Only anguish for this last reigning king.

The Last Two Weeks

Tired
And beat,
Frustrated
Beyond belief.
Driven to madness,
Filled with anxiety –
Torrential downpour on me.
Nothing except insanity
With the last twenty five days I breathed.
I can now see the future before me.

Rumi: The Voice of Love

Every moment the voice of Love
is coming from left and right.
We are bound for heaven:
Who has a mind to sight seing?

We have been in heaven,
we have been friends
of the angels;
Thither, Sire, let us return,
for that is our country.

I was on that day
when the Names were not,
Nor any sign of existence
endowed with name,

By me Names and Named
were brought to view
On the day
when there was not
"I and We",
For the sign,
the tip of the beloved's curl
became a centre of revelation;

As yet the tip of that curl was not.
Cross and Christians,
from end to end,
I surveyed;
He was not on the Cross,
I went to idol temple,
to the ancient pagoda;
No trace was visible there.

I went to the mountains of
Herat and Candahar;
I looked;
He was not in
that hill-and-dale.

I gaze into my own heart;
There I saw Him;
He was nowhere else.

This World

Standing at the gates of hell:
No hope,
No peace,
No serenity.
     Emptiness consumes
     As the world decays around me.

I sit and stare into the sphere of darkness;
No God,
No light –
     Only death singing throughout my mind,
     Spinning into a sea of torment,
     Capsizing any kindness within my sight.

Darkness surrounds my every step:
     The day, no longer seen.
          The sun no longer felt upon my face.
          Only rains of torment
          Cover the path in which I take.

I am held against my will,
Controlled by the forces surrounding me;
They destroy with every breath I take.
I am no longer allowed to be free.

I have become nothing
As my world shatters beneath my feet.
I fall into the darkness of calamity
Surrounded by a million pieces of emptiness.

A world of godlessness
Embeds into my face;
It rips the flesh from me;
It takes my breath replacing it with chaos
– Pain becomes my opening to the world of the insane.

Why I Write

To reflect on the days that slipped on by,
To grasp the reality of my travel through time.
To understand the meaning of what is called life,
To comprehend all of my daily lived strife.

To leave behind the things that I have seen,
To learn what my reality might bring
As I leave a trail of thoughts and dreams;
I list all of my unimaginable realities.

So that “they” can understand the trials I faced,
Like the sun beating down on the desert's barren landscape.
I write for future generations to learn
From the mistakes us men have churned.

So I write.

The Clock

The clock ticks,
the hour has struck;
I just realized
that my life is stuck.

Nowhere to run,
and nowhere to hide
     - I'm sunk!
The clock just struck.

One, two, three and four
it continues on
in death defying horror,
more mundane than the hour before.

Five, six, seven and eight
I plead, let me escape
this vacancy of time
that just drifts on by.

Nine, ten, eleven and twelve,
I meditate to release the pain
of time passing by with no escape.
Tick-tock, tick-tock, goes the Clock.

Cutting

Open slit
Down through the wrist
I watch the liquid fly.

Red as flames,
Burning twist,
The wood will finally die.

Charcoal grey,
Black as night,
My skin shall finally fail.

I'm dead,
Yet I remain;
Another slit, and I'm alive.

Murderous rage traverses my veins
As darkness encompass my gait.

Revenge shines through the dim room light,
Interwoven with deadly delight.

A shattered life is my gift shinning bright
As I scream out into the deafness of night - alone.
