Be Content

Always wanting more,
sacrificing everything
     - the rise and the fall -
It only last a short while,
therefore, learn to be content.

The TV

One boring eve I decided to try a little TV.

I flicked off the light, turned on the tube to enjoy a show. Little did I know the raster from the set would drive me insane, like a jet that had to climb; missing a flagpole sticking out of the towers head. So instead, I flattened the damn set!

Then, I tried a little herbal; self-medication to sooth my nerves. The kind that makes the mind run wild as it races through your head; blowing by the cops with the detector left unset, leaving you drenched in sweat.

Light

Bright light, no light,
green light, red;
dim light, silent night;
     no sun upon life;
         no mankind,
         no sight.

Blue light, dark night,
sky fades, no sight;
     The day becomes night;
         No Light.

Blackmail

Nepotism does rise,
when you reorganize
your fouling little lies;

    "the cervical canal was breached"...
    I swear I will preach,
    unless you pay me thrice:
        Pay up, or die!

Sad Farewell

Slain in a robbery,
a mother of two
living in poverty.
A sad farewell,
as it happened so soon,
on a bloody
valentines afternoon.

If Al Capone is a thief, what is the government?

Reckless

Free speech is reckless when it doesn't enforce your agenda.

Neighbors

Encompassed by lunacy; forced into diplomacy; neighbors embrace with forgery.

Target Practice

White
paper
printed black;
sniper pulls back:
targets are attacked;
no more color of black.
Civil forces complacent,
as they sat in adulation;
worshipping their marks on the paper,
where bullets pierced the images of men.

Comment

This poem was driven by an article I read a few days ago that upset me. I am writing this poem to help bring light to the issues of social injustice and bigotry we face in society.

Ordinary

A Buddhist priest
entered: Handsome,
shaved head,
clothes ordinary...Wow,
he talked about life!

Memories of Love

Memories of love
are not obtained by the fool
in search of romance;
they trust in relationships
built upon love at first sight.

Steak Dinner

Outfitted for hell
his blasphemy did tell,
the story of his fate;

     He ate concentrate
     injected into his steak...
     causing injuries
     to his brain.

What a waste of steak!

The Swim

I dove into a streamlet
not accounting its depth,
all of a sudden
     - SNAP -
my neck,
what the heck?

I regret this decision,
energised by a vision
     - to swim!

What Comes From Love

All the evil from man comes from love.
Yet, it is not from above.
It is from his lust.
Pure disgust.
Greed.

He seeks that which he cannot speak of.
For he is about self-love.
It is from his lust.
Pure disgust.
Needs.

He is ice cold as the snow above.
Silencing your inner dove.
It is from his lust.
Pure disgust.
Bleed.

Forgotten

Forgotten upon this sea of life
where perils enter in great strife;
time passes by and does not light,
as I drift without a dwelling in sight.

I lived, I loved, I became undone,
drifting as I can't outrun
the oceans of hostility -
that destroyed all my humanity.

I long for a day
where I can stay
upon a land
where a home does stand.

But until that time
I will drift like wind
upon the sea that never ends,
that defines my life with emptiness.

For I am a man without a home,
drifting upon this sea alone;
roaming, as I try to find,
yet, I wait…

Coming Undone

Coming undone gardening,
my wife caught me harboring
a flower to her dislike.

Now my marriage ends
like all wedding trends,
in financial strife.

What would be the reaction,
if she caught me in action
with my bike?

The Two Fools

The bastard and the bully
were one of a kind truly;
a match ... made in heaven.

For she would abuse
with the tip of her tongue,
as he would treat her as dung.

Ten years in they played in sin,
and in grief they lived their lives;
using sex to bring their demise.

Then one day, in the middle of May
the bullets entered their brains;
She a shotgun and he an AK,
together they lay where they played.

So in the end, their game did extend
right into the bottom of their grave.
