We briefly chant,
as the moonlight slants
down the veins of our wrists.
And as we slump
on the porcelain stump
we inject the gaudy clump.
For it brings us life
from our days of lies
as we tumble into its bliss.
And while we cry,
as our days drift by,
we swear — only One more time.
Yet, as limbo sets in
we begin to binge
as we deeply breath and sigh.
For as we exhale
the dealer spoke tales
of the papers we did sign.
But little did we know
the injection we sown
was the One that brought our demise.
